The Food Standard Agencies National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme was launched in November 2010 and is in use by all Local Authorities to provide information to consumers about the food hygiene standards in food businesses. Compulsory display of the ratings by food businesses is already a legal requirement in Wales and it is inevitable that this will be a requirement in the rest of the UK soon.

Don't get caught out by having a poor score. Research shows that consumers will not buy food from outlets with a score at levels below 3.
