John Dyson, Managing Director of Cocoms Ltd, is representing the British Hospitality Industry (BHA) on the Food Standards Agency working group which is engaged in revising the E-Coli 0157 Control Cross-contamination guidance.
The working group consists of representatives of the Food Industry, Local Authority E.H.O.'s and Food Standards Agency (FSA) officials.
There has been significant progress in simplifying the guidance. The FSA is currently carrying out a research project into alternative controls to the separate use of complex equipment e.g. vacuum packing machines. It is hoped that this research will be completed by the 31st March 2014.
When the working group has finalised the revised guidance it will be subjected to public consultation.
